There’s anger in Hill Top after senseless vandals set fire to new play equipment in the village.
At 10:30pm on Saturday (October 25 2024), a fire was deliberately set to the new play equipment across from the shops on West Parade, which the community has worked tirelessly for years to secure through a Black Summer Bushfire Grant.
The community was looking forward to the opening of this equipment, just weeks away.
Unfortunately, due to the damage caused by this incident, it’s unsure if the park can be opened before the summer school holidays as originally planned.
The funds from the Black Summer Bushfire Grant were specifically allocated to purchase and install the play equipment, and the community does not have the resources to replace what has been damaged.
