Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has used Parliament to reveal the results of his rail survey that show that 80% of the more than 1,000 respondents believe that the NSW Government is failing the task of running a satisfactory service.

Mr Ward said respondents felt unsafe, were concerned about drug use, harassment, reliability, the lack of wi-fi, working toilets and whether or not they would get home at all.

“These results show the government has a lot of work to do to ensure people can have confidence. At present, the public have no confidence in the management of our rail service,” Mr Ward said.

“The fact that 80% of respondents are either dissatisfied or very dissatisfied is a damming indictment on a rail system that is failing even the most basic and reasonable of public expectations,” Mr Ward concluded.
