
Harvest Festival Tour
RegenAction Wingecarribee Urban group and Moss Vale Community Garden is joining with The Brickworks Farm to present a Harvest Festival Tour of these three properties. The aim is to promote more backyard food growing in the Southern Highlands using regenerative principles. Come along to pick up some great tips for growing nutrient-dense food at the backdoor.
The tour starts promptly at 9.30am on Sunday 6th March at the Moss Vale Community, where a tour followed by a demonstration, installing a simple wormfarm tower directly into your garden beds.
At Greenlaw, you will get a tour and explanation of the setting up of a family backyard with beehives, chooks, fruit orchard, magnificent hothouse along with organic/permaculture vege beds.
Finally, we move on to the Brickworks Farm in Mittagong where sturdy seedlings are grown by Mel using composts and organic inputs. Find out about cover crops and green manure crops and how they improve your soil the way Mother Nature does.
Each participant will receive a ‘goodies bag’ on the day.
