Housing affordability is a growing challenge in regional areas, especially for our teachers, nurses, allied healthcare workers and emergency responders.

The Collective Impact has purchased eight residential units to offer to essential workers in the NSW Southern Highlands at below-market rental, ensuring they can live and work locally.

Through the joint efforts of The Collective Impact and Community Bank BDCU, they will seek to be catalyst for solutions and advocacy that provides our local essential workers with a place to call home.

This initiative goes beyond housing – it strengthens our community by:

  • Strengthening Local Resilience: Keeping essential workers in our towns supports vital services and community cohesion and wellbeing.
  • Boosting Economic Stability: Stable housing empowers essential workers to focus on their roles and capacity to integrate in the communities where they work, driving local growth.
  • Reducing Commute Stress: Less time and money spent on travel means more for family and rest.
