November is turtle month across the Southern Highlands and Shoalhaven and its the beginning of freshwater turtle nesting season.
During this time, female turtles can be seen searching for suitable nest sites, which on occasion, can mean they will be crossing local roads near waterways.
Motorists are being urged to keep a look out to help reduce turtle roadkills.

Experts say wear gloves if you want to move turtles off the road – and don’t relocate the turtle to another area.
