Australians love fashion, but with 200,000 tonnes of clothing sent to landfill each year,
it’s time for a change.

This October, Wingecarribee Shire Council will host Froctober, a month dedicated to sustainable fashion.

From free film screenings and upcycling workshops to a grand clothing swap and talk from a sustainability expert, Froctober offers a variety of events to inspire and educate residents on how to reduce their fashion’s environmental impact.

Wingecarribee Shire Council Environmental Officer – Sustainability, Morwenna Zabaks encouraged community members to get involved.

“Froctober will empower residents to learn about fashion’s environmental impact and embrace sustainable practices,” she said

“By making small changes, such as buying less, choosing quality, and upcycling, we can significantly reduce clothing waste!

“Together, let’s keep clothing out of landfills and build a more sustainable future for fashion,” said Morwenna.
