South Coast Police seize illegal weapons

Police attached to the South Coast Police District have arrested two men, aged 43 and 37, at an address in Nowra for outstanding arrest warrants. The arrests were made around 1:30 pm on 3 March 2025.

Following the arrests, a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO) premises search was conducted at the address. During the FPO compliance search, police located and seized two firearms, one of which was loaded with 10 rounds of 0.22 calibre ammunition and not stored safely within the premises. Additionally, a homemade taser and a small quantity of drugs were found. Neither of the men were licensed to possess firearms.

Both offenders have been charged with their respective offences and have been refused bail. They are scheduled to appear before Nowra Local Court on 11 March 2025.
