Surgery wait times in Illawarra Shoalhaven Health District hospitals are among the best in Australia, according to the latest Bureau of Health Information quarterly results.
Wollongong Hospital performed 1,756 planned surgeries during the October to December quarter, with 86.6 per cent performed on time, an improvement of 13.8 percentage points compared to the same quarter in 2023.
Shellharbour Hospital performed 922 planned surgeries during this period, with almost all urgent planned surgeries (98.9 per cent) performed on time.
Shoalhaven Hospital performed 607 planned surgeries during the quarter. All urgent planned surgeries (100 per cent) were performed on time.
