Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has announced a major grant has been awarded to Crooked River Wines to promote their annual Winter Wine Festival.
Crooked River as part of Destination NSW Regional Event Fund’s Flagship Funding.
An event that has attracted thousands of tourists to the region every June Long
Weekend since 2018, the funding will assist with advertising and promoting the event
to new markets.
Mr Ward said with spring around the corner, our region was perfectly placed to
attract locals and tourists to our local wineries.
“As we see spring peak around the corner with some warmer weather, I’m really pleased we have been able to secure this funding to help promote Crooked River Winery and everything on offer in our region.
“I thank Destination NSW and the Minister for Tourism for their support which is very
welcome news.
“Roger, Angela and Joel have some great plans to enhance the offering at Crooked
River Wines and grants like this help promote their business and all the wonderful wineries and vignerons up and down our coast.”
Mr Lloyd said he was very excited to have been awarded this funding which will help promote their activities.
“On behalf of everyone at Crooked River Estate, I would like to thank Destination NSW and the Minister for Tourism for granting this funding. I would also like to sincerely thank Mr Ward for his ongoing support. Last year’s Winter Wine Festival attracted close to 4,000 attendees, and with this funding we hope to increase that number next year while continuing to work with local businesses.

As well as hosting the annual Winter Wine Festival, Crooked River Estate is hosting
live music every Saturday and Sunday throughout spring and summer.
The business is planning other events and entertainment including wine-pairing dinners and outdoor activities.
The first outdoor activities are a series of nature “walkshops,” presented by the
Estate’s Sustainability Manager, Joel Walsh.
These walkshops will be co-hosted with Landcare Illawarra and will aim to provide working examples of the sustainable and environmental initiatives the business is implementing.
The walkshops will also offer community members an opportunity to experience unique natural areas close to home.
